Daniel Dutton
August 28, 1957 - December 21, 2019
Daniel Dutton of Calgary passed away on December 21, 2019, at the age of 62 years old surrounded by family.
Dan was born on August 28, 1957 to parents Harry and Leontina Dutton. Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 18 years, Kathy and his children Emily and Sarah and step-son Matthew Zegers (Jacqui). Dan will fondly be remembered by his brothers and sisters, Louise, Connie, Pat (Lorraine), Peter (Alice), Chris (Rita), Jim and Kathy’s extended family. Dan was predeceased by his parents and brother Frankie and sister Liz. Dan will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends.
On the personal side, Dan, had many enjoyments in life. In addition to his day job as a courier, Dan took fondly to the comforts of home. His favourite sport was golf, trying to replicate Tiger Woods with every swing of the club! With his girls, Dan enjoyed watching sports such as hockey and football, and his love for the Calgary Stampeders was well known. Dan was a lover of warm weather, and taking his family on summer road trips had been a fond past time for numerous years. As such, Dan over the years broke many heated blankets in the winter on his big comfy chair that now sits empty. We will miss Dan over-cooking our steaks every single time with his beer in hand and blasting which ever football game was on at the time. Dan was a simple man and his gentle presence will forever be remembered by family and friends.
There will be a short graveside service in January 2020. We plan to have a Celebration of Dan’s Life in early April 2020.
