Obituary for Clayton Richard Howe

Howe, Clayton Richard
August 3, 1934 – June 30, 2020

Clayton Richard Howe passed away in Calgary, AB on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the age of 85 years. Clayton was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, where he married and had a son and daughter. He worked for many years in Regina before being transferred to Winnipeg. There, he became Branch Manager of Dictaphone, a title that he held to his retirement.

It was also in Winnipeg where he spent many cold winter mornings chatting with other parents
during his son's hockey practices, and cheering-on at hockey games. Clayton also helped
fuel his son with a love of games, teaching him chess, backgammon, and cribbage.
Countless memorable evenings were spent playing board and card games with the family.

After retirement, Clayton moved to Calgary, shortly after met Shirley, and started
life anew. Clayton and Shirley were both very active in the church and especially the choir,
and were always looking forward each year to the preparation of the Christmas services.

Being with friends and family meant a lot to Clayton, as did his love for food. His pierogies and
cabbage rolls were always the highlight of family visits, as were the bbq's that would have leftovers for days. He made sure everyone always had enough, and then insisted you have more.

He lived a full life and will be greatly missed. Clayton will be missed and lovingly remembered by his son, David; daughter, Cheryl; and granddaughters, Casey and Keira. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Joyce Howe (Thompson).

A Memorial Service will be held at Northmount Baptist Church (451 Northmount Drive NW, Calgary) on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
