Claudio Pulido Nano Sr
November 08, 1937 - December 31, 2022
Claudio Sr. was born on November 8, 1937 in Laoac Manaog, Pangasinan, Phillipines and passed away in Calgary, AB on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the age of 85 years.
Claudio Sr. graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at Central Mindanao University in Bukidnon, Philippines in 1960. After graduating, he worked as an Elementary school teacher at Kadingilan Central Elementary School. He continued his education in teaching courses.
Then, he met the love of his life, Iluminada and after 3 years of dating they decided to get married in 1964. In 1975, the whole family moved to Nueva Viscaya and he was promoted as a University professor at Nueva Viscaya State University. He retired in 1991 and migrated to Canada with his wife Iluminda and son Claudio Jr.
On January 2000, he had a stroke which paralyzed the left side of his body. Despite his disability he was able to travel and kept going on numerous fishing trips. He loved watching baseball, his team is the Blue Jays. He loved fishing in the summertime. He is well known for cruising around Applewood in his power wheelchair and loved talking and meeting new people in the neighborhood.
On December 10, 2022, he was rushed to the emergency at South Health Campus where he was later diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer. As his health deteriorated, he was still able to show his warm smile, be happy and say his goodbyes. He passed away peacefully on December 31, 2022 while the sun was setting and shinning upon him surrounded by his loved ones.
He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Iluminada; children, Marilyn (Brent Maximo), Claudelyn, Claudio Jr, Jhun (Rachel); grandchildren, Isaac, Jheniel (Alex), Jhorina (Kevin), Deianira, Darren (Victoria), Dillan Ray, Jyrick, and Jydric: great grandchildren, Samantha and Daniel; as well as many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm at Choice Memorial (105, 4715 – 13 Street NE, Calgary, AB). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:00 am at Champion Life Centre (3763 52 St. SE, Calgary, AB T2B 3R3). Graveside Service will follow immediately at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery.
