Obituary for Claudia Jean Alsaker (Shepherd)

Claudia Jean Alsaker (nee Shepherd) was born November 24th, 1940 and passed on Saturday, July 9th, 2022.

She was a proud Albertan with a passion for life and all it had to offer. She was as beautiful inside as she was outside. She married the love of her life, Al Alsaker, in 1968. They travelled a little, laughed a lot, and spent many happy summers at the cabin at Red Rock Lake, Manitoba with dear friends.

She worked for many years as a school library technician where she took tremendous pleasure from being with the children. Both she and Al enjoyed many long-term friends and coworkers over the years. Claudia survived the loss of her husband, Al in 2008. She travelled Europe once with a friend and several times with her little sister. She enjoyed frequent adventures with her grandchildren, Madison, Carley and Cooper and lived everyday with a smile on her face and a dance in her step.

Claudia is survived by her daughter, Deanne; son-in-law, Jason and their three children; and sisters, Helen Donovan, Ruth (Ken) Borgland and Bette (Don) Kennedy.

Many thanks given to the staff at the Manor of Fish Creek, the Foothills Hospital, Unit 62, and the team at the Dulcina Hospice. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Claudia’s memory to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
