CLAIRE WINTON WILLIAMSON, of Calgary, Alberta passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the age of 92 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberley Fitzpatrick (Rob) and two beautiful grandchildren, Shannon Claire Fitzpatrick and Keenan John Fitzpatrick; as well as one brother, Jack Williamson and various nieces and nephews. Claire was predeceased by his wife, Leona Williamson; his brother, Keith Williamson; sister, Donna Livingston; and brother-in-law, John Livingston.

Claire was born and raised in Minnedosa, Manitoba, the second of four children. Claire and his bride moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 1957 so Claire could attend the University of Alberta graduating in 1961 with his Degree in Geology. It was during the same Spring that Leona and Claire welcomed the birth of their only child Kimberley. Shortly after the family of three moved to Calgary where Claire pursued his career as an Exploration Geologist. Claire spent many wonderful years in the Oil Patch working for various Exploration Companies. At the time of his retirement Claire was the Canadian Division Manager of Forest Oil Corporation. After his retirement Claire spent his summers at his cottage at Clear Lake, Manitoba golfing with the Senior Men’s Golf Club. His winters were spent in Calgary as a member of the Alpine Senior’s Ski Club. Claire was a kind, generous man, always there if a friend was in need. He was also know to enjoy a cold beer or a rum and coke should the situation arise. He will be dearly missed by all those who had the pleasure to know him.
