Obituary for Christopher James Ross

Christopher Ross of Amherst, Nova Scotia passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in Calgary, Alberta. He was born in Amherst, NS on Nov 26, 1980 to Susan Aylward (Brown) and Donald Ross.

Chris will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Raelyn as well as extended family, and many close friends. In addition to his mother, Susan, Chris was predeceased by his brother, Nicholas.

There were many wonderful aspects to Chris’s life, and many ways that he touched our lives. He will be remembered as a wonderful brother, a great friend, a generous and kind heart, a cousin, outdoorsman, music lover, and friendly face. In all these ways and more, he made our lives richer and fuller. He faced many struggles in this life, but in many ways, the gift of Chris’s life is still here with us. He lives on in our memories and stories, and in what all of us have become because of him.

I know you’ve finally found peace, big brother. You are missed, and you are so loved.

To the living, I am gone,
To the sorrowful, I will never return, To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace, And to the faithful, I have never left.

I cannot speak, but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea, As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity, Remember me.

Remember me in your heart: Your thoughts, and your memories,
Of the times we loved, The times we cried, The times we fought,

The times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.

-Remember Me by Margaret Mead

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’s memory to CAMPP (Community Allied Mobile Palliative Partnership).
