February 17th, 1996 - June 1st, 2022
Chinedu Odagwe-Onyenuwe of Calgary, Alberta passed away suddenly on June 1, 2022 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Chinedu was born in Nigeria and came to Canada as a young man to work and attend post-secondary at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology where he went on to earn an Instrumentation Engineering Technology diploma. A new Canadian, Chinedu was proud of his citizenship and built a life in Calgary where he met his wife and started a family. He worked in various roles as an equipment coordinator but was happiest at his most recent role as Equipment Coordinator at BGC Engineering, where he was known as a kind, fun-loving and collaborative team player that was always happy to help.
Chinedu enjoyed many hobbies and interests, but his biggest passion was playing and watching soccer (football, as it is known in Nigeria) with his friends and family. He had a strong faith in Jesus and often enjoyed playing Nigerian gospel music in his car at full volume. He was a skilled negotiator and could often be found pursuing a good deal. Chinedu was a generous, thoughtful, passionate and devoted son, husband, father, brother and friend.
Chinedu is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter on the way, his parents, siblings, extended family and friends.
