Obituary

Charles Taranhike
December 23rd, 1958 - December 8th, 2019

Charles Taranhike passed away on Sunday, December 8th, 2019 at the age of 60. Charles was born on December 23, 1958 in Harare, Zimbabwe. He lived in Texas from 2001-2005 before moving to Calgary where he passed away on December 8, 2019.

Charles was a wise, principled man that lived with integrity and stood by his values. He loved people, sharing time with his community and keeping his roots strong. Family was where his heart was, starting with a deep relationship with his Grandmother whom he grew up spending Holidays with as a child. This love was soon shared with his childhood sweetheart Judith, after spending much time courting and then marrying. Their love soon turned into four children: son Fungai and daughters Kurai, Yemurai, Onai; and grew once again into five grandchildren, becoming the beloved grandfather (Sekuru) of Gugu, Muzi, Nandi, Zivaii and Ezrah.

Funeral Service will be held at Northmount Baptist Church (451 Northmount Dr NW) on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 1:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to service. Thank you for golfing memories from 1996 ....
We travelled throughout Zimbabwe playing tournaments despite our high handicaps averaging 16
We still enjoyed the 13 over par on certain holes...
It wasn't the score that mattered but the togetherness...
Thank you for the Bushwhackers experience at Leopard Rock in Mutare...
And thank you for the family outings especially Kariba
I cannot forget the Xmases (and other holidays) when we spent time together

I have no words to explain the pain you have left Charles. You were a brother and a brother in-law to me... it hurts soo much to even imagine that we will never meet again in this life. You were so full of life, very funny and brought so much laughter to everyone. You were so full of love for everyone including family. You were the father that Mapaso our father in-law left you to be. I will foerever cherish all the good moments we shared. To my sister Judy... l admire you for your unending love, and your strength. May the Good Lord bless you heaps and may he comfort you and the children Fungai, Kurai, Onai and Yemurai. To Max... may you be strengthened during this time, God loves you! You are not alone, you have been blessed with all these children.
Charles you will forever be loved and missed. May your souls rest in eternal peace till we meet again.
