Obituary for Cecilia Hilda Riether
Cecilia Hilda Riether (nee McGillis) sadly passed away on Sunday 6th December 2020 at the age of 82 years.
Born on the 8th February 1938 in Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan, Cecilia was the devoted mother to seven children.
She will be lovingly missed by her children and their families, Frank, Paul, Michael, Stephen (Jayda Karsten), MaryAnn (Jason Scott) & Angela (Stefan Rasporich), and her grandchildren, Shawn Wutch, Gabriel Riether, Annalise Riether, Ethan & Myles Scott, and Infinity (Finn) Riether Rasporich. She was sadly predeceased by her son, David Arnold Riether, in 2009.
Cecilia's family were always her priority, and she devoted years to raising them, and they kept her very busy and on her toes. Fortunately, she was able to spend some time with them in the final few weeks of her life, talking virtually with her extended family, laughing and reminiscing together.
Cecilia was also strong in her Roman Catholic faith, which was a great source of strength and comfort throughout her life.
Born to Annie & Robert Salaba, Cecilia was the 2nd youngest of seven children, and is survived by her sisters, Yvonne Fluto & Dorothy Justus.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Cathedral in Calgary. Funeral Services provided by Choice Memorial.
