Obituary for Carol Joan Bevis

Carol Joan Bevis

It is with great sorrow that the family of Carol Bevis announces her passing on Sunday, November 8, 2020. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She touched many lives and will be mourned by them all.

Carol was born and went to school in Regina and received her Social Work degree at UBC. She served many years as a member of the board of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Saskatchewan Branch. In 1988 Carol received The President’s Award for Dedicated Volunteerism. After raising her family, Carol spent her career working at the Regina General Hospital where she was a champion for those who needed it most.

Carol was passionate about her family; her main goal was to spend as much time with them as possible. She shared her joy of traveling with her family, including trips within Canada, the United States, Britain, the Mediterranean, Belize, India and Italy. One of her favorite things was to spend time with family and friends at the cottage on Echo Lake, but she enjoyed the solitude as well, reading among the trees and bird watching.

She is survived by her children, Jodie (Darren), Todd (Bobbi Jo) and Greg (Christi); her sisters, Helen Van Alstine and Norma Vance; her grandchildren, Zachary, Cailyn and Daxton; her special nieces and nephews, Chuck, Anna Marie, Diana, Michael, Tania, Blaine, and Michael and their children, and her many friends. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Janet and Fred Vance; her sister, Barbara Silvester; her niece, Susan Van Alstine, and her husband, Bob.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a living legacy in her honour. Please plant a tree, Carol believed trees to be the lungs of the earth and this company is working to reforest Canada. To donate in Carol’s memory, please visit A Living Tribute.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Regina when the Covid restrictions are lifted. To view and share photos, condolences and memories of Carol, please visit www.choicememorial.com.
