Cameron (Cam) Cyril Mather
October 2, 1940 (Moose Jaw, SK) - June 5, 2020 (Calgary, AB)
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Cameron Cyril Mather, on Friday, June 5, 2020 at the age of 79. Cam passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Shawnessy Silvera for Seniors Lodge in Calgary, Alberta.
Cam was born and grew up in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan before moving his family to Calgary in 1966. He came from a family with a long automotive background and was a career partsman working for many GM dealerships throughout Alberta.
Cam is survived by his three loving children, Michele McIntosh (Doug), Christine Dumont (Mark) and Tyler Holmes Mather; three grandchildren, Sydney and Spencer Dumont and Bryanne McIntosh; his brother, Ken Mather (Anna); brother-in-law, Wendell Holmes (Cathy); sister- in- law Jane Holmes; nieces and nephew, and numerous cousins and friends. Cam was predeceased by wife, Janet in 2019.
Cam will always be remembered for his calm and laid-back approach to life and his love of family. He was a quiet man of few words and had a never-ending smile. His many passions were, baseball, playing cards, tinkering around the house and yard, but most of all being outdoors enjoying the sunshine. He will be remembered by his family of having his own unique way of fixing things.
He used to always say : “My greatest accomplishment in life are my 3 kids and how very proud I am of them”.
We will miss you Dad.
