Brian Elaschuk
June 12th, 1964 - October 7th, 2019
On Monday, October 7, 2019 Brian Elaschuk loving spouse, father and grandfather passed away suddenly.
Brian was born on June 12, 1964 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, to John and Anne (Panasiuk) Elaschuk. He was the youngest of their 5 children. Brian followed in his father's footsteps working as an auto body man and in February of 2000 Brian received his journeyman red seal certificate as an auto body technician.
Brian was a loving and very supportive father to his 2 children, Nicholis and Jennifer. In 2014 Nicholis and his spouse Chantel had a son, Leo. Brian loved his grandson and always had smiles and fun times when they were together.
In December of 2015 Brian started to rekindle a childhood friendship with his spouse Christine. This blossomed into a very special and loving relationship in July 2016 when she came to Calgary. They were inseparable from then on.
Brian loved his family and would often tell stories about growing up in Moose Jaw. He had a love of all sports and enjoyed taking a day to go golfing or racing with his buddies. Brian’s passion was his music. He loved going to concerts and played in many bands. His musical talents were extraordinary.
Brian will be sadly missed by many. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to go out of his way to help. He was known for his quick wit and infectious smile.
He is survived by his spouse Christine; his 2 children Nicholis (Chantel) and Jennifer; grandson Leo; parents John and Anne; 4 siblings Tim (Naomi), Marilyn (Al), Mike (Lila) and Margaret (Kim); as well as several cousins.
There will be 2 celebrations of life for Brian. The first celebration will be held in Calgary at the Border Crossing (1814 36 St SE) on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 1:30 pm. The second celebration will be in Moose Jaw at the Eagles Hall (561 Home Street West) on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 1:30 pm.
