Obituary for Brian Norman Bourassa

Brian Norman Bourassa
May 11, 1958 – January 28, 2024

Brian Norman Bourassa passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta at the age of sixty-five.

Brian is survived by his brother, David (Marilyn) Bourassa; sister, Kathrine (Ron Potts) Bourassa; and his four nephews, Kieran (Zoya) Moore, Michael (Jennene Thomas) Moore, Greg (Sally Steeves) Bourassa, Gordon (Angie) Bourassa; and one niece, Heather Bourassa (Matt Horn).

Being an uncle to five gave him a great deal of satisfaction; taking them for a weekend when they were younger, sharing his passion for Stars Wars and Star Trek, bicycling with them as they got older, occasionally including his sister, and just spending time with their families during the holidays.

While with Alpine Drywall, Brian worked on several large construction projects including the Bahai World Center in Haifa, Israel, and the South Health Campus in Calgary.

He is fondly remembered for some of his many quirks, his love for KD, coca cola, and his passionate hate for brussels sprouts or almost anything green. He was stubborn to a fault, whether in traffic with an outburst, something silly like his insistence Superman does not fly and just his life and how he chose to live it.

He was the person that we knew was always there and ready to help in whatever way he could.

The family attended a private viewing at Choice Memorial Cremation & Funeral Services on February 1 and is planning a summer burial at Peace River.

We all love you and miss you, Brian.
