Brent was a classic cowboy, knew when to tip his hat and kept his boots polished. He lived the Cowboy way. When life bucked him off, he always got up, dusted himself off and got back on again for another ride. After growing up in Longview, Brent moved his family to Lac La Biche and soon after venture to Fort McMurray. He worked for many oil and gas companies including Syncrude, Chieftan and Royal Lite.

He eventually ended up back in Calgary where he lived for the last 20 years. Brent was a smart man who loved to tinker, build, paint, and draw. He was an amazing poet who spoke from the heart. One of his poems, “The Christian Cowboy” was recorded by, Trevor Toews.

A private Celebration of Brent’s Life will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made in Brent’s memory to the Alex Community Health Centre.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Lara Nixon for her care and compassion. It’s time to say good-bye to yesterday, this is where the Cowboy rides away… The last good-bye is the hardest one to say.
