On Thursday, March 9, 2023, Beverly “Dale” McIvor passed away peacefully at the age of 85. Beverly was born November 18, 1937 in Liberty Saskatchewan.
Beverly was the proud mother of children, Jack, Kerry (Brian) and James (Laura). Her grandchildren, Chris (Sarah) and Daniel were a regular source of joy, especially when they brought along a Slurpee or a Starbucks! Her great grandchildren, Carter and Emilia were the brightest lights of her life, filling her apartment with handmade crafts, notes, and cards. Beverly is also survived by her loving sister, Jacolyn and her nephews and niece, Robert (Robin), Michael (Carrie) and Laural. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert “Bob”.
Beverly lived a full life. She retired from the Calgary School Board in 1995 and spent many years with her husband, Bob golfing as a member of the Turner Valley Golf course. She loved to knit, crochet and paint. She loved to entertain and loved to laugh.
Both she and her husband were avid gardeners and spent countless hours together creating their backyard oasis. She enjoyed seeing her grandbabies turn into young men and was thrilled to have two great-grandchildren. Family gatherings filled with games, laughter, hugs and chaos and were a true highlight in her life.
We would like to thank Dr. Workum and the staff of Foothills Hospital Unit 81 for such amazing care and kind support.
As per Beverly’s wishes a private ceremony will be held for her immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beverly’s memory to the YWCA Calgary.
