Obituary for Betty Arlene DeVuono (Bremner)

Betty Arlene DeVuono (nee Bremner) peacefully passed away in Calgary on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 90 years of age, with family by her side.

She was born on November 7, 1932 to Martha (nee Dubray) and Rudolph (Thomas) Bremner in the Fenton District of Saskatchewan. Betty attended Business College in Prince Albert, moved to Winnipeg and worked her entire career at General Motors. In Winnipeg, she met and married Ray DeVuono. Betty and Ray were fortunate to retire early and spent 20 years dividing their time between Winnipeg and Scottsdale Arizona.

Betty was an active sports person her entire life, softball, curling, bowling. In her late fifties, she took up golf with her good friend Evelyn whom she worked with at General Motors. She had a passion for the sport, playing at least three times a week, and was a talented and proficient golfer achieving three “holes in one” and club championships in her golf adventures.

Betty spent her last five years living with family in Prince Albert and Calgary. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Susan Dumont, sister Yvonne D’Amour, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 57 years Ray DeVuono (2016), parents Martha and Rudolph Bremner, and five brothers Vernold, Reynold, Stanley, Fred, and Gerald.

At Betty’s request, no formal service will be held. Following Cremation an internment at the family plot in Prince Albert, SK will be held at a later date.
