Obituary for Bette "Diane" Johnson

Bette "Diane" Johnson

Diane, a lifelong resident of Calgary, Alberta, left peacefully and without hesitation to be with her Lord and Saviour early Thursday morning March 31st, 2022. She was 58.

She will be forever missed by her dedicated and loving husband of almost 36 years, Merlyn John Johnson. Together they raised one son, Kyle Johnson (age 30) who married Kayla and together they have a 4 year-old son, Elijah. Diane will also by forever remembered by her older sister, Verna Sininger (Daryle) and their sons, Ryan, Daniel and Jesse; Merlyn's brothers, Daryl and Leland; Merlyn's sisters, Lorraine, Olivia, Trilla and many nieces and nephews! She was predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Thelma Priest and older half brother, Wayne.

Diane enjoyed southern gospel music as she was raised in a "Full Gospel" church and knew Jesus from a very early age. She even became a "recording artist" along with her older sister, both playing accordions, in her early teens. She married into a singing family and sang on occasion with the band. Diane was also interested in drawing and writing poetry and was good in math.

She mostly worked as a cashier between raising her son and providing care in her home for her mother until she passed away in 2001. Although she endured some health issues and lived many years in pain, she fought a "good" fight and was an inspiration to all for her courage and perseverance!

A Celebration of Diane’s Life is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Jubilee Christian Centre (458-35 AVE N.W. Calgary, Alberta). Family and friends are all invited to this event. Come celebrate with us.
