March 22nd, 1940 - Thursday, April 29th, 2021

Bertram Rampersaud passed away on Thursday, April 29th, 2021 at the age of 81. He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Evangeline; children David Rampersaud, Corina (Peter) Singh, Dwain (Andrea) Rampersaud and Bertram Jr. (Diane) Rampersaud; son-in-law Mike Lapointe; grandchildren: Shane (Tina) Adam (Tanis), Simon, Tyler, Bertram 3rd, Kyera, (Dainer) Analynn, and great grandaughter Shania; siblings Christine Seenandan, Victor (Margaret) Rampersaud, Hilda (Big John Ivlaw) Baddier; Alfred (Linda) Rampersaud; brother-in-law Harry Singh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bertram was referred to as "Daddy" or Papa" in the neighbourhood. He will be fondly remembered by his neighbour Joe and family, Omar and Zubada and family, Gordie and family, Larry and Diane and family. He was predeceased by his best friend Dick, and he will be missed by Dick’s wife Gloria and family. Bertram was also predeceased by his daughter Sharon Lapointe; sister Caroline Singh; and brother-in-law Lawrence Seenandan

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a private Funeral Service will be held at Calgary Church of Christ (4030 Maryvale Drive NE) on Thursday, May 6th at 10:00 am. For those who are not attending the private service, a visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am – 9:30 am. As per AHS regulations updated on May 4th, there is a maximum of 10 people allowed for the visitation. You must register your name and telephone number in the RSVP link below if you wish to attend the visitation. For those attending the private service, a visitation will be held from 9:30 am – 10:00 am, prior to the commencement of the service.

There will be a procession to Mountain View Memorial Gardens for the burial, which will depart from Calgary Church of Christ at 11:30 am. For those who wish to follow the procession to the cemetery, you will be asked to remain in your cars while the 10 family members attend the committal. Once the family has made their way back to their cars and have departed the cemetery, groups of 10 friends will be invited to come forward to the grave to lay a flower. All 10 must then go back to their cars and depart, in order to allow any other groups of 10 to come forward to pay their respects.

When regulations allow for larger gatherings, a memorial service will be held for all family and friends to gather to celebrate Bertram’s life. Details will be updated here once arranged.
