Bela (Bill) Laszlo Irsa
Bela passed away peacefully on Friday, January 01, 2021 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB.
Bela was born January 26, 1943 in Budapest, Hungary, the son of Bela and Margit Irsa. In 1949, Bill came to Canada with his parents and two younger sisters, Marianna and Margita. The family lived in Fort St. John, BC for a while but eventually settled in Calgary.
In his youth, Bill enjoyed playing tennis, ice skating and most of all dancing. Saturday nights, he could usually be found at the Italian Club or the German Club, strutting his stuff.
Later, he became an avid stamp collector and bridge player, but his real claim to fame was giving the best bear hugs and telling jokes.
Bela was predeceased by his parents and by his sister, Marianna Beothy. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; two sons, Bill (Marion) and Steven (Dora); his sister, Margita Balogh and three grandchildren, Alex, Wyatt and Sara.
