Barbara Jean Kucheran (nee Jones)
November 17, 1941 – July 22, 2020
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Barbara, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at the age of 78 years.
Barb was born, raised and educated in Calgary. After school, she embarked on a career with the CIBC. During that time, Barb raised her three children, Trevor, Kevin, and Wendy. In 1988, Barb suffered a stroke and through her perseverance, was able to maintain an independent life.
Barb had a zest for life and greeted everyone with a huge smile. She loved and cared for her many furry companions, and almost never turned down a cup of coffee!
Barb was predeceased by her mom, Sarah Jones; her dad, John Rhys Jones; her sister, Shirley Falck; brother, Trevor Jones; and niece, Nancy Falck. She is survived by her children Trevor Bozzer (Ronalee), Kevin Bozzer (Diana), and Wendy Simon (Don), and grandchildren Rhiannon Bozzer, Taren Bozzer, Marina Bozzer, Francesca Bozzer, Mackenzie Simon, and Rhys Simon. As well, Barb is survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Jones, niece Tracy Clarke, nephew Rob Falck, nephew Brad Falck, and niece Sharon Falck.
In her last few years, Barb resided at Cedars Villa Nursing Home, where she was well loved and cared for. Everyone knew Barb for her smile and her constant, “Boopdidoo’s”.
We would like to thank the staff at Cedars Villa for the love they gave our mom. Special thanks to Shilo and Gian for going above and beyond and treating our mom as their own. This meant a great deal to Barb and to our family.
A Celebration of Life will be held August 1, 2020, to remember and honour Barb.
We will love and miss her forever.
