Obituary for Ava May Marlow (Mowers)

Ava May Marlow (Mowers)

Ava Marlow of Airdrie Alberta passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2022, in Calgary at the age of 58 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She is loving, remembered by her husband, Bill Marlow; her two sons, Layne and Logan Marlow (and future daughter-in-law, Brittney Fouracres); brother, Stephen (Deb) Mowers of Medicine Hat, and other special extended family members and dear friends.

Ava was born in Lethbridge in 1964 to Ray and Leree Mowers. She grew up on a farm where her parents farmed southwest of Lethbridge near Glenwood. Ava and Bill met in July 1986 at Callaway Park, just west of Calgary. She was working in Calgary at the time as a Travel Agent. Ava and Bill were married in July 1987 in Lethbridge and then she moved to Regina Sask. (where Bill was working at the time). Ava continued working in Regina as a Travel Agent until Bill was called into the RCMP and moved to Grande Cache after his RCMP training was completed.

There in Grande Cache, in December of 1992, Bill and Ava had their first-born child, Logan. Shortly there after Ava and Bill moved their new family to Airdrie, where they have lived since 1993. In September of 1994, Ava and Bill had their second son, Layne. From then on Ava had a full, amazing life with her family - spending all her time, holidays, every special occasion, and moment surrounded by family and loved ones.

Traveling often with her family to Vancouver Island annually, and trips every year to the Rocky Mountains, the trips she looked ahead to and loved most. Whether traveling with her husband, Bill or for work or with her family, she loved new experiences and seeing the world and a warm beach vacation was a true favourite of hers, vacationing in Mexico, Antigua, Hawaii, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, France, Turkey, along with other countries. Ava’s new favourite trips were going to Arizona with Bill. But Ava’s love most of all, relaxing in the mountains of Radium with her friends and family surrounding her, enjoying the company, the view - being at peace with the mountains.

She truly had a full life, seeing the world and always surrounded by loved ones, making everyone she met feel warm, welcomed, and happy. She will be missed.
