Obituary for Audrey Mason
Audrey Mason died in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on Friday, May 12th, 2023 at the age of 95.
Audrey will be deeply missed by her daughters, Linda (Jamie) McKee and Janet (Gary) Gegan; grandchildren, Fiona, Tommy, Cooper and Natalie; and great grandchildren, Mason and Ellie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (Tom) Mason, who died on March 16th, 2023.
Audrey was born in Grimsby, England in September 1927. She met the love of her life, Tom, on the RMS Aquitania when immigrating to Canada in June 1949. They were married in Toronto on March 25, 1950. 2023 would have been their 73rd wedding anniversary.
Audrey was excellent with math, working various clerical and bookkeeping jobs. She was a skilled knitter, implementing complicated patterns to create clothing, afghans and baby clothes. After retiring, she spent her retirement years traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and continuing to knit.
Audrey’s ashes will be buried in Ballengeich Cemetery in Stirling, Scotland with her husband Tom; his father, Robert; mother, Agnes; and brother, William Mason.
