Martinson, Arnold (Arny) Russell
May 21, 1938 – June 3, 2021
It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce the passing of Arny Martinson, our beloved husband, father, grandfather on June 3, 2021. Arny is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years Bonnie, daughter Brenda (Alun), son Arny (Melissa) and grandsons Zachary and Connor.
Arny was born, raised and lived 83 wonderful years in Calgary. He was a proud City of Calgary employee for 31 years.
Second to his family, his passion was sports, especially hockey which he played, coached, volunteer as well as was an avid fan especially of his grandsons Zachary and Connor. Arny was a terrific mentor, including introducing his children to many sports including dirt bike riding, horseback riding, hockey, baseball, golf, etc
Arny was very handy and could fix almost anything as well as be a “general contractor” at his children’s homes.
He enjoyed travelling to California with Bonnie and their snowbird friends and playing many rounds of golf. He also enjoyed many vacations with his family. He had a special fondness for the family property near Sundre, between mending fences, riding quads, hosting family and friends all while enjoying many laughs and the great outdoors.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
