Obituary for Arlene Louise Willison (Bjerke)
Arlene Willison
October 8, 1951 - December 29, 2022
Arlene Willison, beloved wife of Don, of Calgary, AB, passed away on December 29th, 2022, at the age of 71 years.
Arlene married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Don in 1971 and together they raised their three children. Arlene took great joy in being a stay-at-home mom. Her priority was always to be involved in every aspect of their children’s lives. Arlene’s pride and joy were her 9 grandchildren. They never ceased to brighten her day.
Arlene loved to sew, quilt, garden, and take drives with Don, with a Tim’s coffee in her hand. She was characterized by her laugh and genuine kindness, and she loved a good hug! Above all these great loves, Arlene loved her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
She fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith. Now there is in store for her the crown of righteousness.
Besides her loving husband, Don, Arlene is survived by her children, Charla Berg (Grant), Ryan Willison (Corlene) and Jenny Heidt (Steve) all of Calgary, AB; her adored grandchildren, Haley, Drew, Leah, RJ, Lucy, Maya, Ethan, Amelia and Rhett, as well as brother, Calvin Bjerke (Rhonda) of Chilliwack; a niece and a nephew. She was predeceased by her parents, Oral and Borgny Bjerke and her brother Alvin Bjerke.
The family wishes to thank both Units 43 and 51 at the Peter Lougheed Centre as well as the caring staff at Bethany Harvest Hills.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Harvest Hills Alliance Church, Friday, January 6, 2022 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted in Arlene’s memory by The Alzheimer’s Society.
