Obituary for Tony Michael Failler

Anthony Failler
October 10th, 1929 - Thursday, July 7th, 2022

The time has come for us to say goodbye to our Dad as he leaves this earth to join our Mom. Dad died peacefully at his Calgary residence on July 7, 2022. At 92 years of age, Dad lived a full life and as he recently told us, a good life. He was predeceased by our mom, Lydia, who died April 21, 2012 and leaves behind his children, Colleen of Calgary AB, Garry (Susan) of Fort Lauderdale FL and Janice (Eric) of Parksville BC along with grandchildren, Garrett (Vanessa), Jordan (Stephanie), Kristin (Dave), Megan and Matt.

Dad grew up on a farm near Allan, Saskatchewan and spent many years continuing to farm while maintaining a job in Saskatoon as foundry foreman at John East Iron Works and later worked in a variety of positions at Dairy Producers.
Dad had a green thumb like no other and took great pride and care of his yard and plants. He loved to putz around outside in the summer and as a result his garden and flowers flourished. He particularly loved to grow tomatoes and cucumbers when he had the room to grow them and happily shared the fruits of his labour with family and friends.

Dad’s kind heart and generous spirit was felt by all those who knew him. He was quick to lend assistance as evidenced by the many hours of volunteer work at his St Ann’s residence in Saskatoon. He was known for his handyman skills which were readily given to many as there was not a lot that he couldn’t repair.

We are going to miss our Dad but have so many happy memories of a man who was the best father, grandfather and friend.
~ Colleen, Garry and Janice
