1928 – 2019
With deep sadness and love, we announce the passing of Alvira Grey who went to meet her Lord and Saviour on Friday, July 26, 2019 at the age of 91 years.
Alvira was born in Haddington, Hanover, Jamaica where she resided for many years before moving to Rosehall, Montego Bay, Jamaica. In 1984, Alvira migrated to Calgary, Alberta where she lived for the remainder of her long, full life.
Alvira is survived by her six loving children and their spouses, as well as her thirteen grandchildren, nine great grand children and one great great grandchild, all of whom she loved and cherished deeply. She was a very devoted and loyal mother who led by example. Her kind-hearted spirit, generosity, and caring personality were traits admired by many people who knew her. Alvira was a natural caregiver who had a real passion for cooking, singing, rejoicing and always thanking her lord for her many blessings. Her strong Christian faith and love for her family and friends helped her through the difficult times in her life.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Choice Memorial, 105, 4715 – 13 Street NE, Calgary, AB.
A Celebration of Alvira’s Life will be held at Abbeydale Christian Fellowship Church, 1352 Abbeydale Drive NE, Calgary, AB on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 am.
