Obituary for Aline Liliane McGrath

Aline Liliane McGrath of Calgary, passed away Thursday December 10th at the age of 65.

She was the chosen Daughter of the late Joseph McGrath and Marguerite McGrath (Wiart).

Aline attended Pontmain School and later Tro Val School in Trochu. She grew up spending summers and holiday vacations with her Brother Roger and her younger Sister, Bonnie. She enjoyed being in the 4H Club as a young girl and performing as a majorette with the Trochu band. Aline later moved to Calgary, Fort McMurray, Alix, Airdrie, Regina and then back to Calgary where she remained for the majority of her adult life working and raising her daughter. Aline worked various administrative and accounting jobs and loved to travel with family and friends when she could. She made a memorable trip to Graceland to "visit" her idol Elvis Presley, and Disneyland with her daughter and friends, just to mention a couple such trips. Aline will be remembered for her love of cooking and baking wondeful treats. She found great joy in entertaining and was especially gifted at celebrating Christmas. Her trees and decor were ranking of any magazine cover. It was her favourite time.

Aline is survived by her daughter Amanda, sister Bonnie (Wayne) Munro, nephew Derek Munro and niece Nicole (Adam) Lowen and their three children Carson, Celest and Elise. Aline is also survived by some very dear friends, Diana and Willis Kereliuk, and Heather Choptain and by numerous cousins with whom she spent many family holidays and visits making wonderful childhood memories.

Aline requested cremation and to be put to rest with her mom, dad and brother in Trochu. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her 8 years in the care of the Staff at Rockyview Hospital and Extendicare Hillcrest in Calgary.

Aline, your resting place shall be marked as you requested from the lyrics of a favourite Elvis tune, "Return to Sender".
