Growing up with Senya and having the love and support of her family was a gift. From junior high school lunches with Baba and Debt to an open invitation to their kitchen table. Plenty of food and laughter to fill anyone’s appetite, the Schepicoffs always has open arms. I remember when Senya used to always say, “she was Daddy’s girl” and I never knew what that meant until I became part of the family. An annual invite to the Christmas games and charades always was a blast. The card games, and ski trips and watching “The Young and The Restless” and “Days of Our Lives” before he came home from work were the teenage memories. I may have possible felt bad for eating all the Oreo cookies too....

Family was so very important to him and it’s a trait that will carry forward with his children. Travel was an essential part of what Alex wanted his family to experience. He worked hard to allow his family to have the best. He lived life to the fullest ensuring his family was able to see how big this world really is.

He was extremely close with his kids/nieces and nephews, and he was always present for his family. And as a grandfather, it was so nice to see him engaged with his grandkids from the moment they arrived.

“That man is a success-
Who has lived well,
Laughed often and lived much;
Who has gained the respect of the intelligent man
And the love of children;
Who has filled his niche
And accomplished his tasks;
Who leaves the world
Better than he found it;
Who has never lack appreciation of Earth’s
Or failed to express it;
Who looks for the best in others
And have the best be had.”

Alex always has a smile on his face and welcomed everyone into his home. Have a full table and enjoying cooking is something that his grandchildren will carry forward - and cherish in their lives to recall as fond memories of bonding with the grandparents. Alex took the lead to ensure that celebrations of any sort was an important part of growing up with his family. He was always with a smile on his face and one word from a laugh, and sharing a hug.

Alex is Only Gone on Ahead
He's only gone on ahead of you,
Not just left you behind.
Although you can't be with him right now,
He lives on in your heart and mind.

The day will come when you'll meet again
On Heaven's distant shore,
And the two of you will walk hand in hand
Together forever more.

Thinking of you and family. All our love, Janet and Alex
