Obituary for Alan William Faint

FAINT, Alan William
January 27,1931-September 29, 2019

Alan (VE6QQ) passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family. His passing has reunited him with his daughter.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Marlene; children, Shirley (Rod), Michael (Judy) and Derek (Karen); seven grandchildren and their spouses and his nine great grandchildren.

Alan was a lifelong supporter of literacy and education. He was the librarian at the local library and was passionate about reading and ensuring that every person had the chance to read books.

He always had a witty comeback in any conversation. He would sit and talk for hours about his life and everything he experienced. He shared his experience as a young child in London during WWII. He was a man of wisdom and encouragement.

Alan was an amazing man.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Agape Hospice for bringing both the family and Alan so much comfort and peace.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alan’s memory to The Agape Hospice , by mail to: 1302 – 8 Avenue NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1B8 or by telephone Monday – Friday at 403-282-6582.

Please join us for a coffee morning on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 10:30 am at the Carseland Community Hall, Railway Avenue, Carseland to celebrate Alan’s life.
