It is with great sadness the family of Adrian Vandenberg (Ed or Eddy) announce his passing on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the age of 83.
Ed will be lovingly remembered by his children, Arlene (Obe), Terry-Lynn (Ken), Sandra (Dan), Adrian (Dottie) and his stepchildren, Bobbi (Peter) and Michelle. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Ed is survived by brothers, John (Carole), Hank (Vicki) and Ed’s late common law partner’s sister, Ilyne (George), numerous nieces, nephews, and very many close friends.
He was predeceased by his loving partner, Mavis of 22 years; brothers, Ben,Ted and Fred; sisters, Kathy and Alie; and his parents, Bernardus and Theadora.
Ed was born on October 25, 1936 in Maarn, Utrecht, the Netherlands, and migrated to Canada in 1954. He was a hard worker and had a life full of experiences which included painting motor cycles, operating an elevator in a hospital, carpet layer, and then owning his own trucking business. He enjoyed family vacations, gardening, and traveling. He was an active participant with the North Hill Lions Club and Meals on Wheels. Ed loved to socialize, share his stories and have fun. He had the biggest Vandenberg smile and heart. He enjoyed life to the fullest!
The immediate family is having a private gathering for Ed’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 26th, 2020 at 2:00 PM and because of COVID we will also have a virtual meeting for all other family and friends. Join us in celebrating this awesome man we call Dad, Grandpa, Great “Grandpa Berg”, Brother, Uncle or Friend.
In remembrance of Ed’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the
