Ed, you were a great friend to my Father Robert (Bob) Holm and myself Chris Holm. As business partners you guys had your ups and downs but you always managed to work through things and made a great team. I wish I could have seen you before your passing so I could have said those words in person my friend. Rest in peace.

Our deepest condolences to all the family, during this most difficult time with the loss of Ed. A man with such a big heart who loved life but most of all he loved his family and his beloved Mavis. Our times spent with him were always a good time with the joking and playful times. He was a great scout of building roaring campfires to cook over or help keep us all warm in the evenings while camping and watching the stars and whatever else was in the skies. Ed loved travelling and he and Mavis enjoyed many special places -- Dutchman's Creek, Mexico, and Tofino (a very special place). We have lost a great spirit in a good friend. Rest in peace Ed as your time on earth is done and now the final journey begins. You will be truly missed, until we meet again.

My thoughts and prayers to all the Vandenberg family during this difficult time. Ed was such an amazing man, he would do anything for anybody, he was a caring individual, and thought of others before himself. I have known Ed for many years, we used to party together almost every Friday and Saturday evenings at the Pied Pickle in Franklin Mall back in the 80's, those were great times. It was then when Ed brought in his young nephew Rod, back in 1989, and that is where I met Rod, and well 31 years later we are still sharing our lives together, Thanks Ed, I will hold that memory forever!!!
Both Rod and I will miss you, and you will always hold a special part of our hearts. Even though throughout the years people tend to drift apart, Rod would always talk about the camping trips, family get togethers he shared with you, some of those memories that Rod would talk about sounded like so much fun. You were always the person who brought so much fun and adventures, and these stories will be shared for years to come.
Ed, the world will not be the same without you, RIP we all will meet again one day, all we ask is have a drink waiting for us when we have to cross into the pearly gates of heaven....

Thinking of all of you guys during this time. Your dad was always smiling and could make me laugh. I count myself as lucky to have known him since I was 13. We were always excited to see each other when we spontaneously ended up at the same places. I feel like you all have the fun spirit of your dad and you will always carry that part of him and many more of his traits in your hearts. I will raise my glass at 2:00 pm on Sat. Love you.
