It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the loss of Kai Janus Jensen, well known as “The Baker” who passed away peacefully on February 1, 2019 at the age of 84.
Kai was born in Grindsted, Denmark and immigrated to Canada in his teen years, eventually settling in Calgary making it his home. He had a passion for baking and owned several bakeries throughout his life, but it was spending time with his family that he enjoyed the most. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Helen of 55 years; his children, Donna, Cheryl, Cheryl-Lee (Daryl), Brian (Erin), Jan, Maria (Mike), Kaj; all his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his family in Denmark.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 4:00 pm at the Danish Canadian Club, 727 – 11 Avenue SW, Calgary.
