Wanda Kasamira Rita Wideen (nee Shukys)
August 8, 1940 - August 25, 2023
Wanda passed away peacefully at the age of 83 with her family at her side. Wanda was born in Kaunas Lithuania and immigrated to Canada in 1948, and was married to her husband of 56 years Terrance Roland.
Wanda and Terry lived in numerous towns and cities before finally making Calgary their home for the last 47 years. Wanda’s life revolved around her home, family and friends and was an accomplished artist.
Wanda leaves behind her son, Tony (Roxanne); daughter, Tina; grandchildren, Justin (Chantel), Kassandra and Miranda; two great grandchildren, Zoey and Caden; as well as and numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda was predeceased by her husband, Terry; brothers, Al, Roman, Antanas; and parents, Vanda and Stanley Shukys.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff of the Rockyview Hospital Palliative care unit for the compassion and care of Wanda during her stay.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 8,2023 at 10:30 am St. Mary’s Cemetery (2631 Erlton Street SW, Calgary, AB).
