Obituary for Trudy Charlotte Arbuthnott (Obleman)

Arbuthnott, Trudy Charlotte

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing our beloved mother, Trudy Charlotte (Obleman) Arbuthnott on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the age of 73.

She was born in Calgary, AB. on October 31st, being a Halloween baby, we often teased her about being a ‘Good Witch’. She spent the last 2 weeks of her all too short life in the ICU at the Foothills Hospital, fighting valiantly right to the end but unfortunately succumbing to her injuries. We have no words to express our gratitude and thank yous to the Doctors and Nurses for their loving care and support during that time, we could not have gone through this unexpected trauma without them.

Not only was she our mother/mom/gramma/aunt/sister/companion; she was also our best friend. She was a generous and loving sun worshipper who would give you the shirt off her back. Her helpful and supportive nature was known by all, and her smile lit up a room. Every one of our closest friends/buddies/crew knew our mom, as she was also considered to be their friend.

Survived by her children, Shauna (Arbuthnott) Peers, Scott Arbuthnott (Tammy), and Shannon (Arbuthnott) MacLeod (Kevin), along with her grand-children and great grand-children who will miss her dearly, Jordan (Shelby) Cash, and Colt Arbuthnott, Kim (Klay) and Kesler Rowley, Cord, Cole, and Candra Peers, Matthew and Braden Armstrong and Zach MacLeod. She will also be mourned by her brother, Wayne Obleman (Darlene) and their children, Jason and Dionne, her niece, Shylo Arbuthnott Preston (Billy), sister, Audrey Thompson, and her children, Kim, Kelly (Tibor), Kevin and Katheen, her sister, Kerry Finkas and brother, Keith Obleman and their families. She will also be missed by her best friend of 70 years, Linda Lawson (Leo), along with many other friends, too numerous to name, but you know you are dear to us as well.

Trudy was very active, spending a lot of time with her family, hanging out at the lake, trips to Mexico and backyard BBQ’s. She often went to movies with her dearest friends, brunches at Denny’s and shopping at her favorite places, Wal-Mart and Dollarama. She was talented at crocheting and sewing, often making gifts for loved ones, almost everyone we know has a baby blanket made by Gramma Trudy.

Due to Covid restrictions we have decided to have a Celebration of Trudy’s Life at a later date, to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Trudy’s memory to Foothills Hospital Foundation as their exceptional care of her after the accident was above and beyond.
