Theodore (Ted) Bruce Harris
Theodore Bruce Harris was born in Calgary, AB on November 29, 1947 and passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the age of 73.
Ted will be missed and lovingly remembered by his sister, Bunny Harris; his son, Reece and wife Shannon and their daughter, Ayla; his other son, Drew and wife Dionne; and his daughter, Laurel and husband Steve Legate and their son Damon and daughters, Carys, Lila, and Evelyn. He was predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Doreen Harris.
Ted was married in 1971 to Linda Forster. They lived in SW Calgary during marriage where they raised their children together for 18 years of marriage.
He spent his career as an armoured truck driver for Brinks and then as a security guard in various high rises in downtown Calgary. Ted retired from his job at Brinks after suffering from a rare form of Tuberculosis but always looked back fondly at his time working in an armoured car “around all that money.” Always ready with a smile and a quick joke, he was always popular with many of the folks he worked around.
Ted had a great sense of humour and enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, barbequing, and spending weekends with his children. Ted was never happier than when he had his family gathered around the kitchen table talking, eating, and “cranking the tunes.” He loved dogs and often volunteered to lovingly spoil his son’s dogs Tupelo and Arlo for weeks on end.
