Obituary for Shuwen Wang

Our dear mother and grandmother, Shu Wen Wang, was born in Hebei on January 3, 1932. She spent most of her life in China working as a doctor. With Qun Zhi Ao, her husband of over sixty years, she started a family and raised four children: Jing, Quan, Li, and Pearl. In her later years, she travelled between Canada and China visiting her grandchildren: Ran-Ran, Wei-Wei, Jesse, Catherine, and Nina.

We remember her as a loving woman who always cherished time with loved ones. She would spend hours reminiscing with old photos of family and friends both here and abroad. She always intended on making a trip back home to visit China and spoke of what she planned to do when she returned.

As a mother she was a role model who taught us the importance of staying truthful and being kind and generous with others. As a grandmother, she was a caretaker, a storyteller, and an amazing cook. She gave us her total and unconditional love. Her final wish was for the health, happiness, and prosperity of her family.

We love you and will fondly remember our time with you. Rest in peace until we meet again.

Although many friends and family cannot be with us for the funeral, we would like to give our heartfelt thanks for their support during this difficult time. We know (grand)ma would have treasured your kindness.
