Obituary for Shun Choi Kwan
我們敬愛的爸爸，關順財， 痛於 2023年4月24日於 Dulcina Hospice Care 辭世，積潤享壽 86歲。遺體奉移 Choice Memorial (Rocky View) 殯儀館並將於 5月2日上午10至11時， 作簡單告別儀式，隨即出殯歸土，安葬於卡城伊甸墓園Eden Brook Cemetery。先父遺願，一切從簡。各方親友不必親來送別，感謝你們的慰問，家屬感激萬分。
雖然爸爸的離開讓大家都很不捨，但他的勤奮精神和燦爛的笑容會一直留存在我們心中。
在此特別衷心感謝爸爸的醫療團隊，謝淑華家庭醫生、卡城Tom Baker血液腫瘤科、舒緩療護、居家護理和Dulcina臨終醫院曾經為我們父親的照顧及幫忙。
爸爸，永遠懷念您。

先夫，生於1937年2月10日廣東中山石岐，為家中四弟，於1971年結婚，並育有一子三女。在25歲時來香港建立威威水電工程公司，於1989年移民加拿大沙省開設威威士多直至2000年退休。之後跟隨子女搬到亞省卡城。
丈夫生性健談，經常笑面迎人，熱心助人。結識很多終生好友。
在這四個月的抗癌旅程，雖然辛勞，但亦是我倆晚年時共處最多的時間。離別必然傷感，但看到您能夠離開軟弱的身軀，離開時並沒有太多的痛楚，也感安慰。但願您能安息，萬分掛念！

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our dear father, Shun Choi (David) Kwan at the age of 86 years. Dad passed away in his sleep peacefully the morning of April 24, 2023 at Dulcina Hospice in Calgary.
Shun Choi was born in China on February 10, 1937. He moved to Hong Kong in 1962 and established Wai Wai Electrical Services Inc. In 1971, he married the love of his life Shun Oi (Irene) Chan and made his lifelong commitment to her. He immigrated to Canada in July 1989 and landed in Melville, Saskatchewan where he operated a small grocery store (the “Wai Wai Grocery”) until his retirement in 2000. He later moved to Calgary to join his children.
Shun Choi was a thoughtful and loyal friend who was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a dedicated husband and loving father. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of fifty-two years, his four children, Connie (Weerapong), James (Dawn), Winnie (Dickson), Eva (Lawrence); 7 grandchildren, Nathalie, Melina, Hayes, Shalene, Kurtlan, Chloe, and Caden; as well as many nieces and nephews, and their families. Shun Choi has predeceased by his parents and his three siblings.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to his family doctor at Dr. J Tse Medical Clinic, Dr. Bryant and the staff at Tom Baker Cancer Centre Bone Marrow Transplant Team, Greta and the staff at Palliative Care Consult Services, Marya and the staff at Urban Palliative Home Care, and the staff at Dulcina Hospice who with so much love, dedication, and compassionate care.
A private visitation for family will be held at Choice Memorial (Rocky View) in Calgary on Tuesday May 2, 2023 between 10:00 am – 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Shun Choi Kwan may be made directly to Dulcina Hospice (c/o Covenant Foundation or the charity of your choice, would be greatly appreciated.
