Shirley Piper, beloved wife of Arthur H. Piper of Calgary, AB, passed away at Age Care McKenzie Towne on Saturday, January 14th, 2023 at the age of 93.
Shirley was the loving mother of Douglas W. Prodahl of Calgary, AB, Stephan G. Piper (Sharon) of Maple Ridge, BC and Thomas E. Piper (Brenda) of Saskatoon, SK. Shirley is also survived by her sisters Mardi and Judy; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Arthur H. Piper; her children Jim Piper and Kathy Meston; and her granddaughter Lee-Ann D. Prodahl.
Shirley was born in Lucky Lake, SK. She retired as an LPN in Calgary in 1987, and moved to the Okanagan with her husband for 20 years before returning to Nanton, AB to be closer to family.
Shirley Piper will be interned on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219-4th Street NW - Lot 14, block U3, section R). Gravesite ceremony will be held outside, so please dress appropriately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley may be made to Calgary Humane Society.
