Sharon Lee Yalte (nee Phillips)
May 4, 1944 - March 16, 2023

Sharon Yalte, beloved wife of Herbert of Hanna, AB and loving mother and grandmother, passed away surrounded by her children and grandchildren at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the age of 78 years.

Sharon will be missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Trudy Schiaroli (Tony Schiaroli) of Exshaw, AB, Ken Yalte (Donna) of Calgary, AB, and Roxie Yalte (Brian Boyle) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Tanya Lepage (James), Kurtis Jones (Meghan), Taylor Yalte, Coleman Yalte, Brianne Yalte, Shawna Yalte (Josh), Brandy Yalte, and Sarah Yalte -Boyle; great grandchildren, Aimee, Robert (April), Stephen, Owen, Julian, Olivia, Constance, Levi, Tahlia, Kiara and Scotty; great great grandchildren, Avery and Ryan; siblings, Billy Phillips, Jeannie Cornet (Leonard), Carol Hill, Dwight Phillips (Cheryll), and Shelly; best friend and neighbor, Sherri Dionne (Ryder); as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Herbert Yalte; granddaughter, Paula Yalte; parents, Howard and Elizabeth Phillips; brothers, Morris Phillips and her twin, Danny Phillips; and son-in-law, Mark Jones.

Sharon grew up and went to School in Calmar, AB then moved to Breton, AB. Sharon moved away to Major, Saskatchewan and met and married Herbert Yalte. They moved to Calgary and raised three children, their home was always open to the family. Both enjoyed camping and fishing every chance they could. They decided to move to Hanna, AB to retire, however, Sharon continued to work part time at Freson Bros Bakery department.

Sharon loved her home and her friends in Hanna. Sherri, Sharon’s neighbour, grew to be part of our family, and they leaned on each other for support. Sharon enjoyed gardening and watching her beautiful flowers grow; she would spend hours in her garden. She had a special love for her animals (predeceased) Bubbles, Mr. Snuggles. Chili and Pepper who will miss their Mommy.

When you went to Hanna to visit, she was always ready to cook and was known for the best Lemon Meringue Pie! Sharon was always ready to play Bingo, Crib and Yahtzee, Scratch tickets and enjoyed watching the Game shows and crime shows. She enjoyed sports, never missing her favorite teams play (Calgary Flames and Stampeders) Sharon was a girls baseball coach for years and accomplished a perfect season and took the girls to win the Championship that year!

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Calgary Church of Christ (4030 Maryvale Drive NE, Calgary, AB) with a luncheon to follow.
