Obituary for Rose Murray (Flegel)

Rose Murray (Flegel)
November 14th,1934 to August 9th, 2022.

Rose passed away peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday, August 9th, 2022.
Affectionately known as Baba Rose, she will be forever remembered by her children Laura (Ken), Ian (Wendy) and Janet. Her grandchildren Jason (Tina), Kelsey (Taylor), Meagan and Christine, and great grandson Kai.

Rose was predeceased by her parents John and Pauline Flegel. Brothers Joe, Tony, Peter and Bill. Sisters Mary, Joan, Freida, Carol, Betty and Kay. Daughter Patricia Lynn (Patty).

Rose was born in Debuc, Saskatchewan. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to a farm in Stockholm, Saskatchewan where she helped milk cows and care for horses. When she turned 16, Rose moved to Regina, Saskatchewan where she worked for 2 years. Rose then moved to Okotoks, Alberta where she met her husband, Maurice (Divorced). Rose and Maurice lived in Sundre, Alberta and then in 1956 made their way to Calgary, Alberta. Rose was a homemaker, worked for the Calgary Board of Education and Mobil Oil. Although she was “officially” retired, she cleaned houses for elderly people that weren't able to do it themselves. No one cleaned houses like Baba.

Rose loved to travel. She visited Scotland, Disneyland, Disney World, San Diego, Reno, Las Vegas and Mexico. She also took many Greyhound bus trips to British Columbia and Saskatchewan to visit her siblings. Rose also loved to go to Spruce Meadows to watch horse jumping, loved her Calgary Flames, especially Matthew Tkachuk and of course, the Calgary Stampeders.

There will be no service per Rose's request. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Rose's name can be made to Charity of your choice.
