Rocky Lavallee of Calgary passed away at Bethany Care Center on Thursday, Feb 23, 2023, at the age of 66 years.
Rocky will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Florence Leroux (Joe) of Calgary; sisters, Gloria (Louis) VanDonick of Calgary and Rose Costucci (Hinton); brothers, Donnie Costucci and Eddie Unrah (Amber), Ron, Calvin, Myles (Geraldine) and Brian Lavallee; children, Sarah Shandro, Craig (Franny) Shandro (Marsden); four grandchildren and one great grandchild; aunts, Lori Vico and Alice Suppa and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Harry and Josette Cardinal; father, Camille; his sisters, Darlene Costucci and Yvette Lavallee; grandson, Johnathan; cousins, Linda and Felix who were more of a sister and brother as they were raised together; aunties, Cindy, Sarah and Margaret; uncles, Daniel, Lawrence, Anthony, George, and Zachary.
Rocky was born in Bowness, Calgary. As a youth he was a track & field dynamo, he loved to run like the wind and won many awards, he played hockey, and we had many games of flag football and baseball with the cousins and uncles and friends on the farm. Rocky excelled at everything he put his mind to whether it was landscaping, sports, or cooking. He especially loved farm life and working in the fields during harvest time and was a favorite of the farmers nearby as he was a hard worker. He had a great sense of humor, and his laugh was contagious. He read the paper daily and was interested in world events and sports stats and liked to discuss these, he always knew which teams were playing in any sport. Rocky had a good personality; he was friendly and got along with people. He cared for his Bethany family on Level eight, and we want to thank them for their excellent care & understanding he received there.
