Obituary for Randy James Lucas
It is with shock, disbelief, and immeasurable sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Randy Lucas on February 13, 2021.
Randy, the youngest child of Gunther and Margarete Lucas, was born and raised in Calgary.
Besides his loving wife Nicole (nee Maisonneuve), Randy leaves behind his three children Matthew, Laura and Joel, his sister Karin, brothers Gerd (Tracy, Sheldon and Curtis) and Chris (Liam and Aaron), and his mother Margarete.
Randy spent the majority of his career in IT, having worked for energy companies, consulting firms and most recently with ATB Financial. Above all Randy was a great Dad, loving husband and always there for his family. He was also well known for his terrific sense of humour, passion for sports, love of tropical weather, and his dedication to his children.
A perfect day for Randy would be time spent at the cabin, surrounded by family and friends, (with 30 degree C temperature) with a cold beverage playing football/volleyball or other game finishing it off with a late day walk and a campfire.
No service is planned at this time due to covid restrictions. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date but in the meantime, raise a glass in Randy’s memory. He will be missed dearly.
