Patricia Unarce Becker
March 13, 1957 - October 26, 2022
Patricia Unarce Becker, beloved wife of Donald Ernest Becker, after a short and very brave battle with kidney cancer, passed away at Rockyview General Hospital on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the age of 65 years.
Besides her loving husband, Donald, she is survived by her brothers, Reynaldo and Ramon Unarce and beloved sister, Oliva Whitehead. Patricia was predeceased by her mother, Anita Unarce.
Patricia was from Manila in the Philippines where she studied economics and became successful in the banking world. All of her siblings and mother moved to Calgary, Alberta prior to 2004, while Patricia decided to stay behind and further her career. She fully devoted her life to Jesus Christ. She met Donald and was on her way to Calgary when they decided to meet. Donald filled her life with a good sense of humour since he laughed at himself all the time. The both felt the same passion towards the Lord. After a lengthy courtship, Don flew to the Philippines to marry the true love of his life. Don flew back to Canada and waited for his bride to arrive after the proper documentation was in place and rest is the history they shared. Patricia loved to travel and learned to love camping and fishing. She was active in the church and freely available to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her favourite bible verse was Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[i] have been called according to his purpose". She will be lovingly missed and forever remembered.
‘And we will ascend to the kingdom of God in heaven and he will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Memorial service will start at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 5, at Leyden’s Funeral Home located at 304 18 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2S 0C3. Doors to the funeral home will be open to friends and relatives by 10:15am.
We are planning to have a liturgical service at the funeral chapel followed by a short video presentation about Patricia, and eulogies. Refreshments will follow on the 2nd floor until 2pm. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm at Edenbrook Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 24223 Township Rd 242, Calgary AB T3Z 3K2. The attendees at the burial are requested to wait and line up (in their cars) by the front entrance of the cemetery before 3pm, upon which, a cemetery director from Edenbrook will guide everyone to the grave site starting at 3pm.
Flowers can be sent to Leyden's Funeral Home in the afternoon (by 3:00pm), Friday November 4, 2022.
Anyone who feels the desire to make a donation, donations may be made in Patricia's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
