Obituary for Olive Grace Wilson (Jeffery)

Olive Wilson passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23rd, 2022 at Evanston Grand Village in Calgary, Alberta. She was born in London, England on September 13th, 1922.

She was the loving Mother of Ralph Wilson (Diane) and Janis Scott (Jim). She will be lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren, Deborah Wilson-Do (Huy), Sandra Mueller (Claus), James Scott (Lisa) and Casey Scott (Kerri) and her eight great grandchildren, Taylor, Jeffrey, Noah, Ryan, Trevor, Brianna, Chaz and Colten. She will also be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Nora Jeffery. Olive was predeceased by her Beloved Husband, Walter Wilson and her three brothers, Donald, Roy and Doug.

In 1941 during WWII, Olive married Walt, a Canadian Soldier, and came to Canada in 1945 as a War Bride. For over 30 years she worked in the Civilian Personnel Office in Currie Barracks. After retirement she volunteered for several years at the Kerby Senior Centre in downtown Calgary.

Olive was a strong, brave woman who was always kind, considerate, thoughtful and generous to others. She was completely devoted to her family and enjoyed travelling, cooking, baking, gardening and shopping.

On Saturday, September 10th, 2022, family and friends gathered to celebrate her 100th birthday. Olive could not believe she had reached that milestone because she said she did not feel that old even after receiving congratulations from the Queen.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations made in Olive’s memory to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. To view and share photos, condolences and memories of Olive, please visit www.choicememorial.com.
