Obituary for Genevieve "Gen" Keats
Forever in our Hearts
On Friday, September 8, 2023, Muriel Genevieve Keats passed away at her home in Calgary, Alberta.
Gen leaves to mourn her devoted husband of 50 years, William Keats; her loving children, Kathy, Geoff, Joy, Vanessa, and Andrea; grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Bradlee, Linnea, Brandon, Brianna, Caelan, Oscar, and Abby; and four great-grandchildren, Max, Charlee, Emmy, and Leo who brought so much laughter and happiness to her life. Gen was the fourth child of 11 and leaves behind her siblings, Bernard, Gertrude, Boyde, Madeline, Monty, Cavell, and Paula. She also leaves to mourn, a large pride of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Gen moved to Calgary in 1981 and devoted her life to childcare. She touched the lives of hundreds of children over 40 years throughout her career. Each child held a special place in her heart. Gen devoted her life to caring for others. Whether you were a friend, a stranger, or a bingo buddy, she was always there for you.
May we all keep her memory alive with each story we tell.

A Celebration of Gen’s Life will take place on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Forest Lawn Community Association (4020 26 Avenue SE Calgary, Alberta).
