Michael (Mike) John Blanchfield was born in Calgary, Alberta on November 12, 1942 and passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the age of 80 years old.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Linda Blanchfield (Ilott); children, Todd Thomas and Diane Thomas-Castle; son-in-law, Brad Castle; grandchildren, Spencer and Adam Castle; sister, Susan James (Blanchfield); brother-in-law, Brian James; nephews, Josh James and Jeremy James; nieces, Heidi James, Lindsay and Jamie McMillian; as well as many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his loving mother, Mabel Blanchfield; kind father, Jerry Blanchfield; brother, Danny Blanchfield; sister-in-law, Susan McMillian (Ilott) and many aunts and uncles.

Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Mike went to St. Marys High School where he won many athletic awards and many championships. He had a career as a successful salesman working for Westeel Rosco, Capri Carpets, Bosch Power Tools, Calgary Fasteners and House of Tools. Mike loved a good game of pool where he won tournaments that took him to Vegas to compete.

As an avid sports fan, Mike enjoyed watching games in his lazyboy whenever he could, cheering on his favorite team. He especially loved visiting, laughing and playing games with his family. Every holiday together was filled with laughter because of Mike cracking us all up. His heart was stolen by his cat, Willow and the dogs that he walked everyday. His jokes, hugs and love will be so missed by his family, friends and pets. Rest in peace Mikie.
