Obituary for Mabel Louise VanWinkle (Aldridge)

VanWinkle, M. Louise

M. Louise Hogg (VanWinkle) passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary with her daughter, Andrea by her side. Born on September 13, 1933 to Francis George Aldridge and Christine Faith (Eaton). She was little sister to Bobbi (Frances Mae) and later big sister to Beverly.

Louise and her family spent many years in the Peace Country, from the family farm in Goodlow, BC to the house in town in Fort St. John and later in Grande Prairie. For the last number of years Louise lived in Calgary, a city she loved and was an active member in her church. She enjoyed volunteering and was very involved with the Metis community. Through the years Louise had many cherished friends and to so many she was known as Auntie Lou. She will be missed by so many, especially her dear friend, Tom Born and her little dog Charlotte.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Bruce) Reynolds, Brian (Vicki) Roux, Robert Roux, David (Tina) Hogg, Danial Hogg, and Andrea (Lorne) Martyn; grandchildren, Leanne, Lesley, Robin, Angela, Curtis, Bryan, Kolt, Wayne, Louise-Marie, Danielle, Daphne, Daylon, Lauren and Sarah and their spouses, along with her 27 great grandchildren. Louise was predeceased by her father, Frank Aldridge (1952); stepfather, Peter Campbell (1986); mother, Christine Campell (1989); sister, Bobbi Rowland (2003), and daughter-in-law, Denise Hogg (2018).

Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, there will be a Graveside Service in Summerland, BC next summer (date to be determined). Contact andrea.louisemartyn@gmail.com for further details. To view and share photos, condolences and memories of Louise, please visit www.choicememorial.com.
