Obituary for Louise Philamena Fiedler (Senger)

Louise Fiedler

With sadness the family of Louise Fiedler (nee Senger) announce her passing on Monday, October 10, 2022.

Louise was born in Scott, Saskatchewan on November 24, 1941, to Ignatz (Nels) Senger and Philomena Wagner. Louise attended Saskatoon Business College before moving to Calgary where she met her future husband, Michael. Throughout her career she worked in clerical and secretarial positions in the banking, and legal fields, and ultimately in the non-profit community until her retirement.

Louise is mourned by her husband, Michael; her daughters, Andrea and Stephanie; grand-dog, Finnegan; and grand-cat, Toby. She is survived by her brother, Pius (Carol); her sisters, Frieda (Tom) and Adeline; her brother-in-law, George Lindeman; her sister-in-law, Louise Windley (Phil); her sister-in-law, Martha Wilson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Louise was predeceased by her parents, Nels and Philomena; her sisters, Margaret Lindeman and Rosina Senger; her brothers, John Senger and Eugene Senger; sister-in-law, Eva Senger; and her brothers-in-law, Bert Froehlich and Edward Zook.

Louise was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She was a beautiful soul who made friends everywhere she went with her kind heart and quick wit. She enjoyed engaging in conversation, reading, walking, visiting with friends, cards, and travelling. She had an infectious smile, a splendid sense of humour, a generous spirit, and was blessed with rich friendships. The world was a better place with her in it, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

As per Louise’s wishes there is no funeral service planned. In memory of Louise, we ask that you do something kind for someone you love in her honour. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Louise’s memory to Rosedale Hospice.

We are eternally grateful to the staff and volunteers at Rosedale Hospice for their care, comfort and kindness to Louise and her family in her final months. The family would like to also thank the doctors and nurses at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Foothills Hospital for their support, along with her personal health care providers. Thank you to our caring and kindhearted friends, neighbours, and extended family for their support during this time.

We cherish the time we had with Louise over the past few months. Her light will always remain bright in our hearts. Our intention is to have a Celebration of her Life in the future.
