Obituary for Khaila Rose McGrath

Khaila Rose McGrath, 20, has left us much too soon. Her family and friends are shocked and deeply saddened by her loss.

Khaila was born on September 22nd, 2000 to Amanda Doudiet and Dwayne McGrath in Truro, Nova Scotia. And has died February 17th, 2021. There are a great deal of people who loved this young woman, her parents Amanda Doudiet (Clayton Doudiet), Dwayne McGrath (Lisa McGrath). Siblings, Zoë Doudiet, Jaxom Doudiet, Allison Doudiet, Hailey Doudiet, Shauna MacDonald , Nicholas Rocco , Ali Pennington, Adam Pennington. Grandparents, Brian and Shelley White, Richard McGrath, Belinda Hartling, (Alma McGrath-deceased). Great Grandparents, Carol Pettipas (Raymond Pettipas-deceased), Melvin and Audrey White, Ann and Brad MacPherson. Aunts and Uncles, Lorna White (Matt Sullivan), Cory White. Numerous extended family. Best friends Samantha Butt and Brenden Sandmoen. And so many more.

Anyone who knew Khaila, knew that she was full of love, and untapped intelligence and potential. Khaila had a great love for anything creative, especially drawing and music. And a love of the ocean, Home was always Nova Scotia. She had a huge heart and felt everything deeply. She always had color in her hair and a pencil in her hand, wearing a comfy over sized hoodie, dreaming of travel. She had a wild curiosity, creativity, inquisitive mind and the most beautiful big warm blue eyes.

She had a compassion for animals and those who have struggled like her to overcome anxiety, depression, poverty and the deep desire to be loved and seen.

Khaila's family and friends will miss her more than any words could begin to describe.

Please do not send flowers. If you are able, please donate to Stepping Stones Fort McMurray .

Close family and friends personally invited will have a Celebration of Life held at Choice Memorial in Calgary. There will also be a live Facebook stream on Wednesday, February 24th at 1:00 pm for anyone who wishes to join us in saying good-bye, please click on the link below to join:
