Obituary for Joshua Femi Olawuyi

Olawuyi, Joshua Femi
1952 –2020

This is to announce the call to glory of our Father, Husband,Brother, Uncle, Grand father, Professor and Pastor, Joshua Olawepo Oluwafemi Olawuyi (nickname Initiative) after a brief illness (not Covid-19 related). He was born on the 28th of December 1952 in Iloro Compound, Aran-Orin, Kwara State, Nigeria, to Late Pastor James and Mama Esther Olawuyi. Throughout his life Joshua was dedicated to the service of the Lord. He was a true leader, pastor, mentor to many and a great teacher.

In all, Joshua dedicated over fifty years living a selfless life serving his family, peers, community, and was a humble influence wherever he went. Professor Joshua Olawuyi is survived by his loving and supporting wife, Rachel Olawuyi (nee Ajide); his six children; Oluwasola, Tinuola, Olumuyiwa, Fiyinfoluwa, Boluwatife and Ibukunoluwa. His siblings; Janet Afolayan, Rachel Agboola and Timothy Olawuyi. His grandchildren; Oluwaferanmi, Oluwafikayomi, Osarume, Ehiosa, Adesuwa, Nosakhare, Ayomide, Oluwatishe, Damilola, Tolulope and Tiwatola. His Children-in-law: Motunrayo, Cassandra, Opeyemi and Vivian. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, community, and the church of God worldwide.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2020 at 11:30 am MST at Northmount Baptist Church (451 Northmount Dr NW, Calgary, AB T2K 3H8). A Graveside Service will take place immediately after the service at the Airdrie Cemetery.
